Undergraduate and Graduate Courses
CHET faculty members offer undergraduate and graduate courses through the Department of History and Department of Science, Technology, and Society (STS). We welcome students from all departments of the university to take our courses.
Fall 2005 Courses:
- HIST 720 - History of Environment & Technology (Graduate), Prof Edmund Russell. In this course, graduate students and advanced undergraduates discuss monographs in the history of environment and technology fields. The development of professional skills, including oral presentation, book review writing, and conference participation, is stressed.

Previous Courses:
- HIST 718 - Environment and Technology in the 19th Century City (Graduate), Spring 2005, Prof Jack Brown. This course examined how environment and technology shaped and were shaped by urbanization in the 19th century, both in the US and Europe.
- HIST 720 - History of Environment & Technology (Graduate), Fall 2004, Prof Bernie Carlson. In this course, students examined the role of the environment and technology in the development of world civilizations from pre-historic man to the agricultural revolution to the industrial revolution.
